South Africa produced over 32Moz of gold, 2/3's of the world's production of 47.5Moz. Former USSR was a distant second at 6.5Moz. Canada, the US, and Australia produced 2.4, 1.7, and .6Moz, respectively. The rest of the world accounted for less than 9% of production. |
